Fireworks & the 4th of July — Keeping Your Pup Calm 🐾🎆
Hey friends, it’s Cooper! Can you believe the 4th of July is almost here? I’m extra excited because we always get a bunch of visitors over the holiday (more people to give me belly rubs!) and my sister’s birthday is on July 3, so we basically get a double celebration! 🥳🎉
But I know not every dog is as pumped about fireworks as I am about snacks — in fact, some of my fellow fur friends find fireworks downright terrifying. And that’s no joke. If your pup is one of them, here are some tips straight from me (your favorite Goldendoodle) to help your best friend feel safe and calm during all the booms and bangs:
🏠 1. Create a Safe Space
- Find a quiet, comfy area where your best friend can retreat and feel secure.
- A crate, cozy corner, or den made with furniture and blankets works great!
- Keep it away from windows and doors to block out noise and flashes.
- Add familiar items like toys, treats, and a favorite blanket or bed.
🎵 2. Provide Calming Distractions
- Use positive reinforcement training with tasty treats or favorite toys.
- Play soothing music or white noise to mask the scary sounds.
- Try a pheromone diffuser or calming collar to help reduce anxiety.
- Long-lasting chews or interactive games can keep your pup busy, too!
❤️ 3. Stay Calm and Reassuring
- Remember, us dogs pick up on your emotions! Stay chill and relaxed.
- Offer comfort if we seek it, but don’t smother us — give space if we want it.
- Let your best friend hide if they feel safer that way — don’t force them out.
🐶 4. Consider Calming Aids
- A ThunderShirt can feel like a reassuring hug (I’ve heard they’re amazing).
- Natural calming sprays or chews might help some pups.
- For severe anxiety, you should visit with your vet about medication options.
🔉 5. Try Desensitization Training
- Practice with low-volume fireworks sounds while giving treats or playing.
- Slowly increase the volume as your dog gets more comfortable.
- Over time, this can teach your dog that fireworks aren’t a threat!
🏡 6. Stay Indoors
- Keep your pup inside during fireworks to reduce stress and keep them safe.
- Close windows, doors, and curtains to minimize noise and flashes.
- If you have to leave, make sure your dog is in a secure space so they don’t try to escape in fear.
I hope these tips help your furry family members feel safer this 4th of July! 🎇 Remember, we dogs count on our humans to look out for us — and nothing makes me happier than knowing my friends are comfy and calm.
🐾 Stay safe, have fun, and give your pups some extra treats for me!
Love,
Cooper ❤️

The Life of a Window Dog 🐾
Hi friends — Cooper here! 👋
I have to share what happened this weekend. I was what you’d call a window dog. What does that mean, you ask? Well… let me paint the picture for you.
My family (yes, all of them except my big brother — traitor!) packed up and went on a trip. Without me. 😱 Can you believe it?! They left me behind (gasp!) and went off on some grand adventure. Sure, my big brother did a great job taking care of me, and I had my trusty sidekick, Ruby (pictured above) but what’s a loyal pup like me to do?
I planted myself at the window — nose pressed to the glass, eyes on the driveway — waiting for them to come back — Ruby joined me! Did it make sense? Probably not. Could I help myself? Absolutely not. That’s just what a good boy does.
The good news? My humans realized their mistake. They promised me that I’ll be going on the next trip. (I’m holding them to it!)
And when they finally came home — let me tell you — I could barely contain my excitement. I ran in circles, wagged my tail so fast it almost flew off, and gave out all the wiggles and kisses.
Sure, they were only gone for just under 48 hours. But let me tell you — it was the longest less-than-48 hours of my life.
Since then, I’ve been stuck to my mom like Velcro. And I’m pretty sure she loves it just as much as I do. ❤️
Until next time, friends — may your humans stay close and your treats be plentiful!

🎉 A Birthday, a Best Friend, and a Squeaky Situation 🐾

Hey pals! Cooper here, your favorite Goldendoodle reporter with the latest tail-waggin’ news from The Deal Doodle headquarters. This past week was a special one — it was my mom’s birthday! 🥳🐶🎂
Now, I pride myself on being a very good boy every day, but for Mom’s birthday, I really outdid myself. I gave her the ultimate gift… my undivided attention, constant cuddles, and never let her out of my sight for the entire day. (Okay, so maybe it’s just like every other day) 💛
To make the celebration even better, we took a little trip to visit my grandparents — and guess who I got to see? GEORGE. 🐾
George is my best good friend and also happens to be my grandparents’ Golden Retriever. (Yep, that’s him in the picture above). He’s three years older than me, so he’s technically my wise elder… though I like to remind him that age is just a number when we’re wrestling in the yard. He acts like I annoy him sometimes (okay, maybe I do zoom around a lot than he does) but I know deep down he loves me. He even lets me win at tug-of-war sometimes… maybe.
Now here’s the real kicker — I taught George one of my greatest life skills: how to get the squeakers out of toys. 🧸💥 You’re welcome, buddy. Although, during this visit, I noticed George had left a squeaker halfway in a toy. I couldn’t just leave a job unfinished, so I took care of it for him. Grandma didn’t exactly clap for me… but I could tell she was impressed. 😂
We had the best weekend playing outside, sniffing out gophers, and celebrating Mom. And now, we’re headed into Memorial Day — a time to remember and honor all those brave humans who served our country. I hope you get to spend it with family, friends, and maybe a furry companion or two.
Here’s to sunshine, squeaky toys, and sweet memories.
Until next time, keep those tails waggin’!

A Purr-fect Party & The Best Cookie Cake Ever 🎉🐾

I’ve gotta tell you about a party I went to recently… it was for my cousin. Now, before you picture a bunch of doodles playing fetch—let me clarify—my cousin Conjure is a cat. Yep, a real live, purring, head-tilting, laser-pointer-chasing feline. And believe it or not, he just turned ONE! 🎂🐱
Conjure had a fabulous birthday bash. There were party hats, catnip treats, toys, and lots of belly rubs—well, for me. He preferred regal head scratches and basking in the sunshine like the royalty he is. 😼
But the highlight for the humans? The GIANT chocolate chip cookie cake my mom made. I’ve seen humans go crazy for this thing, and let me tell you, they were all wagging their imaginary tails over it. It’s soft, chewy, and packed with chocolatey goodness (I wouldn’t know from personal experience… something about “no chocolate for dogs,” blah blah blah).
If you’ve got a celebration coming up—or just want to make an ordinary day feel extra sweet—here’s the recipe:
🍪 Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie Cake 🍪
Straight from my mom’s kitchen—Cooper approved (for humans only, unfortunately)
Ingredients:
- 1 stick butter (softened)
- ¾ cup white sugar
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
- A good shake of salt
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- (Optional: nuts or M&Ms if your humans are feeling wild)
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350°F
In a large bowl, mix together the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
Add the eggs and vanilla extract, and mix until combined.
Stir in the flour, salt, and baking soda until it looks like glorious cookie dough.
Fold in the chocolate chips (and M&Ms or nuts if you’re fancy).
Spread the dough into a pizza pan (my mom lines her’s with parchment paper).
Bake for about 15-17 minutes, or until golden brown on top but soft in the middle.
We had so much fun celebrating Conjure’s big day, and I gotta say—it’s pretty great having extended pet family to paw-ty with.
Until next time, keep it cool, keep it chewy, and always sniff the air for cookies. 🍪

Home Sweet (Full) Home! 🐾

Hi friends, it’s me — Cooper! 💛
You know what’s better than belly rubs and bacon? Having my entire pack back under one roof. My brother just wrapped up his very first year of college (I’m so proud I could wag outta my fur), and now he’s finally home again! That means extra head pats, more laps to curl up on, and someone new to play fetch with besides Mom (who, let’s be honest, throws like a human).
I’ve been doing a lot of this lately 💤 (see above), because it takes serious energy to keep up with everyone now that the house is full of my favorite people again. I usually pine at the window when someone leaves — it’s my signature move — so having everyone here makes my heart (and tail) so happy.
And guess what else? It’s the weekend and it’s almost Mother’s Day — which means I’ll be busy showering Mom with extra cuddles, sloppy kisses, and maybe even letting her sleep in (no promises).
🐶 Cooper’s Weekend Plans:
✔️ 37 games of fetch
✔️ 2 squeakers to extract
✔️ 1 very mushy card for Mom
✔️ Infinite snuggles
Wishing you and your family a paws-itively perfect weekend too! 🐾 Until next time, stay pawsitive!

🐾 Gopher Patrol Duty

Hey friends! It’s me — Cooper, your fluffy deal-sniffin’, tail-waggin’, treat-lovin’ Goldendoodle… but this week, you can just call me Officer Cooper, Gopher Patrol Extraordinaire. 🕵️♂️🐶
Let me tell ya, I’ve been on the clock. Like, serious business, no-nonsense, coffee-breaks-are-for-chihuahuas kind of work. Why? Because there are gophers in my yard. 🕳️😤
I know they’re down there. I’ve seen the holes. I’ve sniffed the dirt. I’ve circled the evidence. I’ve staked out every entrance like I’m guarding the entrance to Fort Knox. Every day this week, I reported for duty — plopped my floofy behind right next to their tunnels and stared. And waited. And sniffed. And waited some more…
Did they show their sneaky little heads? Nope.
Did I give up? Also nope.
My mom says I look like I’ve got a job with an hourly wage and dental benefits the way I take it so seriously. But someone’s gotta protect the yard, right?! 🛡️🐾
Anyway, I didn’t catch a gopher (yet), but I did get dirt on my nose, a belly rub for being “such a good boy,” and a treat afterward — so I’m calling it a partial win. 💪
If you’ve ever been on patrol duty, or you’re a fellow doggo who understands the thrill of the chase (even if it’s imaginary), let me know. We can start a union or at least trade ground squirrel surveillance tips. 🐿️📝
Until next time, stay alert, stay pawsitive AND stay on those gophers.
– Officer Cooper, reporting out. 🐾🎖️
Hanging with My Silkie Chickens!

Hey friends, it’s Cooper here! 🐶✨ Welcome to the very first edition of Cooper’s Corner, where I share all the fluffy, funny, and tail-wagging parts of my week.
(Trust me, my life is full of treats, adventures, and sometimes a little mischief. 🐾😜)
This week, I had a super egg-citing time… hanging out with my silkie chickens! 🐓💛
You heard that right — chickens!
Now, I know some pups might chase chickens around the yard, but not me. Nope! I’m a gentleman.
I like to chill with my silky, feathery friends — we sunbathe, we strut around the yard, and sometimes we even share snacks (well, when Mom’s not looking – turns out I like lettuce too). 😇
Silkie chickens are the fluffiest, friendliest chickens you’ll ever meet — like little clouds with legs! ☁️🐓
Honestly, I’m starting to think I’m part chicken myself… I mean, just look at my fluffy Goldendoodle curls. Pretty convincing, right? 🐾😂
Fun Fact:
Silkie chickens are so soft because they have unique feathers that feel just like silk. (I’m a little jealous… but don’t worry, I still think my fur is fluff-tastic. 🐶✨
Thanks for stopping by my first-ever Cooper’s Corner!
I’ll be back next week with more wag-worthy stories, so be sure to come sniff around again soon. 🐾🎉
Until next time… stay pawsitive, friends! 🐾💛
